Kilcurfin Glebe (Carrigtwohill Cork)
Per family history this is where Timothy Higgins and his wife Catherine Linehan were buried in the early 1900s. Unfortunately no church or county records of the old burials could be located. Despite multiple trips looking for the actual grave site no head stone or marker was found. This is a very old cemetery and not maintained very well, Many of the inscriptions are badly weathered and not legible. Also many of the stones are tipped over and buried in the thick clumps of grass. There are a number of Higgins and Linehan stones but none with a definitive connection. One stone pictured below was erected by a Bartholemew Linehan of Ballyregan in memory of his parents William and Ellen Linehan.. It just so happens that according to the 1853 Griffiths Valuation a Bartholemew Linehan lived very close to Garrett Higgins in Poulacurry/Glanmire. Garrett was Catherine Linehan's father in-law. There is more info below trying to show that these Linehans were probably related based on the close proximity of the residences of these families over the years.
